EVP Head of Commercial Payments & Treasury Management Fifth Third Bank

Bridgit Chayt serves as executive vice president, and head of commercial payments and treasury management for Fifth Third Bank, National Association. She oversees the strategic direction of commercial payment and depository services, including commercial card issuing and acquiring activities.

Before joining Fifth Third in 2016, Bridgit spent more than two decades in financial services, serving in various roles with Midwest Guaranty Bank and Comerica Bank, where she served as executive vice president and director of treasury management and business deposit services. She has a track record of delivering market-leading revenue growth, product innovation, customer loyalty and risk performance for treasury management, merchant services, commercial card and government card programs.

Bridgit’s experience includes global corporate marketing, commercial banking and wealth management. She started both a bank and holding company in Troy, Michigan, focused on providing banking services to middle market companies and their owners. Her background includes experience in education, human resources and operations management.

Education

Bridgit earned a bachelor’s degree in English and political science from St Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. She went on to study at the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, and University of Chicago-Booth School of Business. Professional and Civic

Bridgit is a board member of Cincinnati’s Mercantile Library, the Dallas Business Council for the Arts, United Way’s Women of Tocqueville Society and Friends of the Bloomfield Township Library in Detroit. She previously served on the boards of Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan, United Way Women’s Initiative Southeast Michigan and Boys & Girls Club of Troy, Michigan. In 2023, she led Fifth Third’s ArtsWave employee campaign, which raised $1 million for Greater Cincinnati’s cultural organizations. In 2024, Bridgit was named to American Banker’s list of Most Poweful Women in Banking and as a YWCA Career Women of Achievement.
