Barbara Widholm

Vice President, Global Technology State Street

Barbara Widholm recently transitioned to Global Technology's Tech Modernization team following her tenure at State Street, where she contributed significantly to data strategy initiatives. During her time at State Street, Barbara served as a Product Developer within the State Street Digital division, concentrating on digital assets and technologies.

Her responsibilities encompassed establishing a comprehensive business and operating model to support clients throughout the digital investment cycle, from pre-trade to post-trade activities. She also spearheaded various projects aimed at enhancing client satisfaction and user experience.

Barbara's journey at State Street began in EMEA back in April 2016, initially focusing on Global Markets FX Sales/RM for StreetFX and Indirect FX. Over time, she diversified her roles and geographic locations, gaining expertise in Data Management, Pre-Sales Engineering, and Product Development across different market segments. In 2019, Barbara relocated to Boston to take on roles in Alpha Data Management and Pre-Sales Engineering, catering to a diverse client base including Alternatives, Asset Owners, Asset Managers, and Insurance companies.

Prior to her tenure at State Street, Barbara garnered international experience, working in the US, UK, and Germany, starting her career at Goldman Sachs in London with a focus on Back Office and Legal Documentation.

Barbara holds two Master of Science degrees, one in MSc Data Science completed in 2021 from the University of Edinburgh, and another in MSc Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship from Manchester Business School. Barbara is also actively involved as Co-Chair of the Professional Women's Network in Technology, demonstrating her commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
